With the growing trend of remote work, small businesses need to adapt to new payroll processes to ensure smooth and legal payment of their remote staff. This can seem overwhelming, but with the right information and tools, it's entirely manageable. Many companies across Canada are beginning to hire remote workers to reduce overhead costs and tap into a wider talent pool. However, paying remote employees involves understanding the various laws and regulations that govern remote work in Canada. You have to ensure that taxes are deducted correctly, employees are classified properly, and payments are made on time.In this article, we will cover the basics of setting up payroll for remote workers in Canada. We will discuss the essential legal considerations, explore the tools and software that can help manage remote payroll, and review best practices to ensure accurate and timely payments. By the end, you'll have a clear understanding of how to handle payroll for your remote team, keeping your business compliant and your employees happy.
Understanding the Basics of Remote Payroll
When setting up payroll for remote workers, it's crucial to understand the basics to ensure smooth operations. The first step is to classify your remote employees correctly. Determine if they are full-time employees, part-time employees, or independent contractors. This classification affects how you handle their pay and benefits.Next, gather all necessary employee information. This includes Social Insurance Numbers (SIN), banking details for direct deposits, and employment contracts. Make sure to confirm the province or territory where your remote workers are based, as this information impacts tax calculations and other legal requirements.Once classified, focus on setting up a reliable payroll system. Choose whether you want to handle payroll manually or use payroll software. Payroll software can simplify the process by automating calculations, deductions, and payments. This helps ensure accuracy and reduces the risk of errors.Additionally, consider the frequency of payment. Determine whether you will pay your remote employees weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Consistency is key, so establish a regular payroll schedule and stick to it.Understanding the basics of remote payroll sets a solid foundation for managing your remote workforce efficiently. This groundwork helps avoid common payroll issues and keeps your business operations running smoothly.
Legal Considerations for Remote Workers
Legal considerations are critical when managing remote payroll. The first thing to consider is employment laws in the province or territory where the employee resides. Each region has its own labour standards, including minimum wage, overtime pay, and statutory holidays.Another important factor is tax obligations. For remote workers, you need to ensure that the correct amount of income tax, Canada Pension Plan (CPP) contributions, and Employment Insurance (EI) premiums are withheld. It's crucial to stay updated on tax rates and remittance deadlines set by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).Remote workers may also require specific benefits. You need to provide mandatory benefits like CPP and EI, but consider extending additional benefits such as health insurance or retirement plans to stay competitive as an employer.Employment contracts for remote workers should be clear and comprehensive. Outline job responsibilities, work hours, and payment details, including how and when employees will be paid. Make sure that your remote employees understand their rights and responsibilities under the contract.Lastly, ensure compliance with data protection laws. Handling payroll information involves sensitive personal data, so implementing strong security measures to protect this information is essential. Encrypt data, use secure payroll systems, and train employees on data privacy practices.By keeping these legal considerations in mind, your business can avoid potential legal issues and ensure fair treatment of your remote workers. Proper legal compliance makes your payroll process more efficient and builds trust with your employees.
Tools and Software for Managing Remote Payroll
Managing remote payroll becomes easier with the right tools and software. Automation reduces human error, and digital solutions keep your payroll data organized and accessible.
Best Practices for Ensuring Accurate and Timely Payments
Ensuring that remote employees are paid accurately and on time is essential for maintaining trust and satisfaction. Follow these best practices to streamline your payroll process:1. Consistent Payroll Schedule: Stick to a regular payroll schedule, whether it's weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Consistency helps your employees plan their finances and reduces stress.2. Clear Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with your remote employees. Inform them about payroll procedures, payment dates, and whom to contact for payroll inquiries. Clarity prevents misunderstandings.3. Double-Check Payroll Data: Always double-check your payroll data before processing payments. Verify hours worked, tax deductions, and benefits contributions to ensure accuracy.4. Automate Where Possible: Automation can handle repetitive tasks like calculations and deductions. Use payroll software to automate these processes, which minimizes errors and saves time.5. Conduct Regular Audits: Periodically audit your payroll system to check for discrepancies or errors. Regular audits highlight issues before they become major problems.6. Keep Updated Records: Maintain detailed records of all payroll transactions. This includes timesheets, payslips, and tax documents. Understanding when to amend a Record of Employment (ROE) is crucial for every small business owner in Canada. The ROE is a vital document that employers must issue when an employee experiences an interruption in earnings. It is used by Service Canada to determine whether someone qualifies for Employment Insurance (EI) benefits, making it an important part of both the employer's and employee’s responsibilities. In the next sections, we'll dive deeper into why and when you might need to amend an ROE, the common reasons for these amendments, and we'll provide a step-by-step guide on how to do it. Understanding these details can save both time and stress, ensuring that your small business runs smoothly and your employees receive the benefits they are entitled to promptly.
Understanding When and Why to Amend a Record of Employment (ROE)
Amending a Record of Employment (ROE) becomes necessary when there are errors or changes in the initial information submitted. The ROE is crucial for determining an employee's eligibility for Employment Insurance (EI) benefits, so accurate information is vital. You should amend an ROE whenever you discover incorrect or incomplete data. This ensures that the employee receives the correct benefits without unnecessary delays. You might need to amend an ROE if you mistakenly reported incorrect dates, wages, or reasons for separation. For instance, if an employee's pay rate was recorded inaccurately, it can affect their EI benefits calculation. Similarly, if the reason for leaving was mistakenly entered, it could lead to benefit disqualification or delays. An amendment is also required if there are changes after the ROE has been issued. Examples include additional payments like back pay or bonuses that were not included in the initial ROE. Being proactive and amending the ROE promptly helps keep everything in order and benefits both the employer and the employee.
Common Reasons for Amending an ROE
1. Incorrect Dates: One of the most common reasons for amending an ROE is due to errors in the start or end dates of employment. Accurate dates are essential for calculating EI benefits.2. Wage Errors: If there were mistakes in reporting the employee's wages, these need to be corrected. This includes regular wages, overtime, and any additional payments.3. Reason for Separation: Recording the wrong reason for an employee's separation can affect their eligibility for EI benefits. An amendment might be needed if the reason entered was inaccurate.4. Additional Payments: Sometimes, additional payments like bonuses, commissions, or back pay are issued after the initial ROE is filed. Amending the ROE to include these helps keep records accurate.5. Employee’s Work Pattern: Any changes in the employee’s work pattern, from part-time to full-time or vice versa, after the ROE has been issued need to be updated.6. Statutory Deductions: Errors in reporting statutory deductions such as CPP, EI, or tax withholdings require amendments to ensure proper documentation and compliance.Amending the ROE for these common reasons helps ensure that the employee's benefits are processed correctly and promptly. Regularly reviewing and updating records reduces the likelihood of errors and simplifies the amendment process when such changes are necessary.
How to Amend an ROE: Step-by-Step Guide
Amending a Record of Employment (ROE) might seem complicated, but following these steps can make it straightforward. Here’s a clear guide to help you through the process.1. Log In to ROE Web: Start by logging into your ROE Web account on the Service Canada website.2. Find the ROE to Amend: Locate the ROE you need to amend. This can be done by searching for the employee’s name or the ROE serial number.3. Make Necessary Changes: Once you've found the ROE, you can edit the required fields. This might include correcting dates, wages, or the reason for separation.4. Check for Errors: Before finalizing, review your changes to make sure everything is accurate. This helps avoid further corrections later.5. Submit the Amended ROE: After ensuring all details are correct, submit the amended ROE. You will receive a confirmation that the amendment has been accepted.6. Inform the Employee: Notify the employee about the amendment. Provide them with a copy of the updated ROE for their records.By following these steps, you can successfully amend an ROE, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Canadian regulations.
Consequences of Not Amending an ROE Properly
Failing to amend an ROE properly can lead to several issues for both the employer and the employee. Here are some of the consequences:1. Delayed EI Benefits: Incorrect information on an ROE can delay the processing of Employment Insurance (EI) benefits. Employees might face financial difficulties if their benefits are delayed.2. Penalties and Audits: Inaccurate ROEs can trigger audits from Service Canada. Employers may face penalties if found to be non-compliant with regulations.3. Employee Frustration: An inaccurate ROE can cause confusion and frustration for the employee. It can also erode trust between the employee and employer, affecting workplace morale.4. Recordkeeping Issues: Improper amendments can lead to discrepancies in company records. This makes it harder to maintain accurate financial and employment histories.5. Legal Consequences: Persistent non-compliance can lead to legal troubles. Ensuring ROEs are accurate can save a lot of headaches and potential court cases.Understanding these consequences highlights the importance of amending an ROE accurately and promptly.
Conclusion
Keeping accurate Records of Employment (ROEs) is essential for both employers and employees in Canada. Amending an ROE when necessary ensures that employees receive their Employment Insurance (EI) benefits on time and helps employers stay compliant with regulations. Simple steps like reviewing data before submission and being proactive about amendments can save time and reduce errors.Ready to take control of your payroll processes? Choosing the proper payroll schedule is essential for any small business in Canada. The schedule you choose affects not only your cash flow but also employee satisfaction and overall business efficiency. Making the correct choice ensures everyone gets paid on time and helps you avoid payroll-related issues. This article will guide you through choosing the proper payroll schedule for your team. By exploring different payroll schedules, assessing your business needs, and considering employee preferences, you'll be well-equipped to implement and adjust a payroll schedule that works best for everyone. Whether you are a new business owner or looking to change your existing schedule, this guide will offer valuable insights.
Understanding Different Payroll Schedules
When it comes to payroll schedules, there are several options. Each has its benefits and challenges. Understanding these can help you pick the one that best fits your business.Weekly Payroll: With a weekly payroll schedule, employees are paid once a week, usually on the same day each week. This schedule is standard in industries where employees work hourly, such as retail or hospitality. The main advantage is that employees get regular and frequent payments, which can improve their cash flow. However, it can be time-consuming and costly to process payroll every week.Bi-Weekly Payroll: Bi-weekly payroll means employees are paid every two weeks, resulting in 26 yearly pay periods. This schedule is popular because it balances the benefits of frequent pay with reduced administrative work compared to weekly payroll. It’s suitable for both hourly and salaried employees. The downside is managing deductions and benefits contributions, which may need adjustment to fit the bi-weekly timeline.Semi-Monthly Payroll: Employees are paid twice a month on fixed dates like the 15th and the last day of the month. This schedule works well for salaried employees and simplifies monthly expenses and benefits calculations. Since it only results in 24 pay periods a year, it requires less frequent payroll processing. However, the pay dates can sometimes fall on weekends or holidays, needing adjustments.Monthly Payroll: Employees receive their pay once a month. This is less common for most businesses but can be suitable for senior-level employees or specific contractual positions. It simplifies payroll processing but requires careful budgeting since employees only get paid once a month.Understanding these different schedules lets you see which suits your business operations and employee needs best.
Assessing Your Business Needs
Choosing a payroll schedule involves evaluating your specific business requirements. Every business is unique, and what works for one may not work for another.Cash Flow Management: Consider how each payroll schedule impacts your cash flow. Weekly and bi-weekly schedules require you to have funds available more frequently. If your business has high and low revenue periods, you might prefer a monthly or semi-monthly payroll to align better with your income streams.Administrative Resources: Consider your administrative resources. Processing payroll can be time-consuming, particularly for smaller businesses without a dedicated payroll department. A monthly schedule reduces the frequency of payroll tasks but requires meticulous planning. Conversely, a weekly or bi-weekly schedule might demand more frequent attention but can make cash management more effortless.Industry Standards: Look at the standards in your industry. Some businesses, like those in construction or hospitality, typically use weekly payrolls to accommodate hourly workers. Matching industry standards can attract and retain employees who are used to a specific schedule.Choosing the proper payroll schedule is essential for any small business in Canada. The schedule you choose affects not only your cash flow but also employee satisfaction and overall business efficiency. Making the correct choice ensures everyone gets paid on time and helps you avoid payroll-related issues.easonal Employees: If your business relies on seasonal or part-time employees, consider how the payroll schedule affects them. More frequent pay periods, like weekly or bi-weekly schedules, can be helpful for workers who depend on regular income throughout their employment.By assessing these factors, you can choose a payroll schedule that aligns with your business goals and operational capabilities. This ensures you manage your resources effectively while meeting the needs of your team.
Considering Employee Preferences
Employee preferences are crucial when choosing a payroll schedule. Satisfied employees are more productive, and understanding their needs can go a long way in ensuring satisfaction.Survey Your Team: An easy way to gauge employee preferences is to conduct a simple survey. Ask them how frequently they would like to be paid. Hourly workers often prefer weekly and bi-weekly schedules, while salaried employees might lean towards semi-monthly or monthly pay.Evaluate Financial Planning Needs: Different employees have different financial needs. Regular payment schedules, such as weekly or bi-weekly, can help employees manage their finances better, especially in covering ongoing expenses like rent and utilities. You should also consider whether more frequent payments might ease your employees' financial strain.Consider Demographics: Younger employees might be earlier in their careers and may prefer more frequent pay periods to help manage their cash flow. Meanwhile, more experienced employees might have an easier time budgeting for monthly expenses and may be comfortable with a less frequent payroll schedule.Take Note of Legal Requirements: Also, comply with any provincial regulations regarding payroll. While employee preferences matter, staying within the legal framework is critical. For example, some provinces might have minimum pay frequency requirements that you must follow.Balancing employee preferences with business needs ensures a harmonious and efficient payroll system that works well for everyone involved.
Implementing and Adjusting Your Payroll Schedule
Once you've chosen a payroll schedule, proper implementation and possible adjustments are necessary to ensure it runs smoothly.Set Clear Procedures: Develop clear procedures for your payroll process. Document each step to ensure consistency and accuracy. Make sure everyone involved in payroll processing understands their roles and responsibilities. This helps prevent errors and keeps the process efficient.Communicate With Employees: Inform your employees about the new payroll schedule and provide details on when to expect their first pay under the latest schedule. Clear communication prevents confusion and sets the right expectations.Monitor and Evaluate: After implementing the schedule, monitor its effectiveness for the business and the employees. Look for issues, such as challenges in cash flow management or employee dissatisfaction. Collect feedback and be open to making adjustments if needed.Use Payroll Software: If you're not already using payroll software, consider adopting one to automate and simplify the payroll process. Good software can handle calculations, tax deductions, and direct deposits, reducing the risk of errors and saving a lot of time. Make sure your chosen software supports the new payroll schedule.Be Flexible: Be prepared to make adjustments as your business grows or as regulations change. Periodically review the payroll schedule to see if it needs altering. Flexibility ensures your payroll system remains effective and compliant with new legal requirements.By carefully implementing the payroll schedule and being open to adjustments, you create a reliable and efficient payroll system for your business.
Conclusion
Choosing the proper payroll schedule is essential for the smooth operation of your small business. By understanding different payroll options, assessing your business needs, and considering employee preferences, you can create a system that benefits everyone involved. Remember, the proper payroll schedule can improve employee satisfaction and streamline your financial management. At PayrollNorth, we understand the complexities of payroll management for small businesses in Canada. How to Choose the Right Payroll Schedule for Your Team

Managing payroll for a small business in Canada requires careful attention to detail. Mistakes in payroll processing can lead to significant consequences, such as fines, employee dissatisfaction, and compliance issues with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Knowing some common payroll mistakes and how to avoid them helps ensure our payroll practices run smoothly and efficiently. We can maintain a compliant and hassle-free payroll system by being aware of these common mistakes and learning how to prevent them. This article will explore these common payroll mistakes and provide practical solutions to avoid them.
Misclassifying Employees and Contractors
One of the most common payroll mistakes is needing to be more accurate to classify employees as independent contractors. This error can lead to severe legal and financial consequences. Employees and contractors have distinct differences in the eyes of the law, especially regarding tax withholdings and benefits. Misclassification can result in fines and back payments for benefits and taxes that weren’t initially deducted. To avoid this mistake, it's essential to understand the criteria used by the CRA to differentiate between employees and contractors. Employees typically have set hours, receive benefits, and work under the direct supervision of the employer. Conversely, contractors operate more independently, often working for multiple clients and managing their schedules. When unsure about a worker’s classification, it’s best to consult the CRA guidelines or seek advice from a payroll expert. The CRA’s “Employee or Self-employed?”Guide can help us make the right decision and ensure compliance with tax obligations. Proper classification also fosters transparency and trust in our workforce.
Inaccurate or Late Tax Filings
Filing taxes accurately and on time is crucial for maintaining compliance and avoiding penalties. One common mistake is underestimating the importance of timely and precise tax filings. Incorrect tax filings or failing to submit them by their due dates can attract penalties and interest charges from the CRA.We should implement a robust payroll system that tracks all necessary tax data to prevent inaccurate or late tax filings. Double-checking figures before filing and using payroll software that updates with current tax rates can ensure accuracy. Setting reminders for critical deadlines ensures that we always complete all due dates.Keeping thorough records of all payroll transactions simplifies the tax filing process. Additionally, we should accurately report all earnings, deductions, and benefits to avoid discrepancies that could trigger an audit. Investing in the right tools and maintaining a disciplined approach to tax filings helps us stay compliant and avoid unnecessary fines.By staying vigilant and organized in our tax-related activities, we can mitigate risks and focus more on growing our business with peace of mind.
Miscalculating Employee Overtime
Calculating overtime pay correctly is another common payroll challenge many small businesses face. The provincial labour standards set overtime pay rules, and failing to adhere to these rules can result in costly penalties and dissatisfied employees. In Canada, most employees are entitled to overtime pay for hours worked beyond the regular workweek, typically 40 to 44 hours, depending on the province. To avoid miscalculating overtime, we need to understand the overtime laws applicable in our province clearly. For example, in Ontario, overtime is paid 1.5 times the regular rate for hours worked beyond 44 hours a week. By setting up our payroll system to automatically calculate overtime based on these rules, we reduce the risk of human error. We should also keep detailed records of all hours worked by each employee. Using time-tracking software can simplify this process, making it easier to calculate overtime accurately. Regular audits of our payroll records can spot errors early and ensure compliance with labour laws. Clear communication with employees about how overtime is calculated and when it is paid further helps maintain accuracy and transparency.
Neglecting to Keep Accurate Records
Accurate payroll records are crucial for compliance and transparency. Failure to maintain proper records can lead to errors in payroll processing, missed tax filings, and difficulty resolving disputes. The CRA requires businesses to keep detailed records of employee hours, wages, tax withholdings, and remittances for several years. To maintain accurate records, we should establish a robust record-keeping system. This means documenting every payroll transaction and securely storing these records. Payroll software that automatically generates and stores records helps, making accessing and reviewing them more accessible when needed.Regularly reviewing and updating these records ensures they remain accurate and up-to-date. This practice is vital during tax season and audits, as having well-maintained records simplifies the process. Providing employees with access to their payroll information, like pay stubs and tax forms, builds trust and minimizes the chances of disputes.Creating a disciplined approach to record-keeping fosters a well-organized payroll system, ensuring that all necessary documentation is available and accurate when needed.
Conclusion
Managing payroll for a small business in Canada involves various responsibilities, each with its challenges. By being aware of common payroll mistakes such as misclassifying employees, filing taxes inaccurately, miscalculating overtime, and neglecting record-keeping, we can take proactive steps to avoid them. These errors can lead to severe consequences, including fines, penalties, and even audit complications.Establishing transparent payroll processes and using reliable tools to manage these tasks helps maintain accuracy and compliance. Staying informed about labour laws and tax regulations, regularly auditing payroll records, and implementing time-tracking systems are all effective strategies for avoiding these common mistakes. Transparent and accurate payroll practices ensure compliance and foster a positive workplace environment. If you need help managing your payroll and avoiding these common pitfalls, consider contacting PayrollNorth. Starting out as a first-time employer in Canada can be an exciting journey. However, managing payroll can seem like a daunting task. Payroll involves more than just writing cheques; it's about understanding your responsibilities, setting up efficient systems, processing payments correctly, and ensuring compliance with various laws.Proper payroll management is crucial for the success of your business. Paying your employees correctly and on time helps in maintaining trust and morale. Additionally, adhering to tax regulations and maintaining accurate records can protect you from legal troubles and financial penalties.
Understanding Your Payroll Responsibilities
As a first-time employer, getting to grips with your payroll responsibilities is key. Knowing these duties ensures that your payroll runs smoothly and complies with Canadian laws.Deducting Taxes and Contributions: You need to deduct federal and provincial income taxes from your employees' wages. Additionally, you must withhold Canada Pension Plan (CPP) contributions and Employment Insurance (EI) premiums. These amounts are based on current tax rates, which are updated annually by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).Employer Contributions: Apart from deductions from employees, you are required to make employer contributions to CPP and EI. These contributions match those deducted from employee wages and are also submitted to the CRA.Issuing T4 Slips: At the end of each year, you must provide T4 slips to your employees. These slips summarize their total earnings and deductions for the year. You also need to send copies to the CRA. This information is vital when employees file their tax returns.Payment Deadlines: Remitting taxes and contributions must be done within specified deadlines to avoid penalties. Mark these deadlines on your calendar and set reminders to ensure timely submissions.By understanding and fulfilling these responsibilities, you ensure that you stay compliant with CRA regulations and maintain a good relationship with your employees.
Setting Up a Payroll System
Setting up a payroll system is essential for managing employee payments efficiently. Here’s what you need to do:Choose Payroll Software: Select payroll software that suits your business size and needs. Good payroll software simplifies calculations, generates pay stubs, and helps with filing taxes. Ensure that the software is updated with current tax rates and regulations.Register for a Business Number (BN): Before paying employees, you need to register for a business number with the CRA. This number is used for all your interactions with the CRA and is necessary for remitting taxes and filing returns.Collect Employee Information: Gather all necessary information from your employees, including their Social Insurance Number (SIN), tax exemption status, and any additional deductions they wish to make. Accurate information ensures correct tax calculations and compliance.Set Up Direct Deposit: Establish a direct deposit system to streamline payments. Direct deposit ensures that employees receive their wages on time and reduces the chance of errors compared to manual cheques. Create a Payroll Schedule: Decide on a payroll schedule that works for your business and employees. Common schedules include weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payments. Consistency in your payroll schedule helps employees plan their finances better. By setting up a robust payroll system, you simplify the process of paying your employees and reduce the risk of errors. This foundational step ensures that your payroll operations are smooth and efficient.
Processing Payroll Efficiently
Once the payroll system is set up, processing payroll efficiently is the next step. Efficient payroll processing ensures timely and accurate payments, keeping employees satisfied and avoiding costly errors.Automate Payroll Calculations: Use your payroll software to handle all calculations automatically. Automation reduces the risk of human error and ensures that deductions for taxes, CPP, and EI are accurate. Verify the calculations regularly to ensure everything is correct.Set Up Regular Payroll Runs: Follow the payroll schedule you created, whether it is weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Stick to this schedule consistently so employees know when to expect their pay. Consistency in payroll runs helps manage cash flow and employee expectations.Reconcile Payroll Records: Regularly reconcile payroll records with your bank statements. This practice ensures that the amounts paid match the records and helps catch any discrepancies early. Keeping payroll aligned with financial records is essential for accurate bookkeeping.Streamline Communication: Keep clear communication with employees regarding their paychecks, deductions, and any issues that might arise. Promptly address any questions or concerns they might have. Good communication helps build trust and clarity in the payroll process.Stay Updated with Regulations: Payroll regulations can change, such as new tax rates or contribution limits. Regularly check CRA updates or use payroll software that provides automatic updates. Staying informed helps avoid compliance issues and ensures smooth payroll processing.By implementing these steps, you ensure an efficient payroll process that keeps your employees happy and your records accurate.
Ensuring Compliance and Record-Keeping
Compliance with payroll laws and maintaining accurate records are crucial duties for employers. Following these practices helps you avoid legal issues and keeps your business operations transparent.Adhere to CRA Guidelines: Ensure that you follow all guidelines set by the Canada Revenue Agency for payroll deductions and remittances. Stay informed about any changes to these guidelines. Adherence to CRA rules protects you from penalties and legal consequences.Maintain Detailed Records: Keep detailed records of all payroll transactions, including wages paid, taxes withheld, and remittances made. Records should also include employee information, such as SIN and tax exemption status. These records are essential for audits and financial verification.Store Records Properly: Store payroll records securely, both digitally and physically. Digital records should be backed up regularly to prevent data loss. Ensure that access to these records is restricted to authorized personnel only. Proper storage protects sensitive employee information.File Necessary Forms: At the end of each tax year, file all required forms, such as T4 slips and summaries, to the CRA. Make sure these forms are accurate and submitted within the deadlines. Filing the correct forms on time ensures compliance with tax laws.Conduct Regular Audits: Perform regular internal audits of your payroll process and records. Internal audits identify discrepancies and areas for improvement. They also prepare your business for any external audits by the CRA.By ensuring compliance and maintaining accurate records, you protect your business from legal troubles and build a trustworthy payroll system.
Conclusion
Managing payroll as a first-time employer can seem overwhelming, but following a structured checklist simplifies the process.
